Sailorships

Would your child – or a friend – like to learn to sail? Here is their chance!

Clinton Sailing Club (CSC) is offering “Sailorship” scholarships for Clinton kids in need ages 8-18 to participate in a FREE one-week sailing lesson experience this summer.

For other towns, please contact your local social services department as they have often provided funds for participants to attend Clinton Sailing Club.

Sailors learn parts of the boat, important sailing terms, and experience first hand sailing a boat in Clinton Harbor! Lessons run one week, and take place at Clinton Town Beach daily from 9-12 and 1-4pm.

CSC offers four levels of Youth sailing lessons. Start with Sailing 1, our beginner course, then progress to Sailing 2. Follow this with Sailing 3 for intermediate sailors, then graduate to learning advanced skills with Racing!

Applications are available from Mrs. Skidmore at Joel School and Ms. Guidi at Eliot Middle School.

Sailorships are awarded based on financial need. Applying for a Sailorship is easy. Just tell us why you would like to learn to sail this summer! It’s important that kids write this, not parents. CSC’s Board of Directors will review the essays and determine scholarship winners.
