Sailing Instructor - Women & Family Programs
Description

Women & Family programs sailing instructor at successful nonprofit sailing school. Sailors  participate in 3-hour classes held three weekday evenings. Four RS Quests are used for these adult programs along with 14' and 15' Achilles inflatable coaching boats. We operate from the Clinton Town Beach with beautiful views of Cedar Island and Long Island Sound.

Responsibilities
  • Implement sailing curriculum
  • Fill out accident reports, as needed
  • Communicate issues with vessels to Program or Operational Director
  • Oversee end of day procedures
  • Ensure boats, equipment, and supplies are properly stored and secured
  • Provide feedback to participants about aspects of their performance
  • Complete skill acquisition sheet for each sailor by the end of the week and file in designated folder in CSC Google Drive
  • Monitor Junior Instructor performance and safety while on the water
  • Communicates with and reports to Program Director in order to provide sailing instruction in a fun and safe environment
Qualifications
  • US Sailing Level 1 Instructor certification or greater
  • Valid CT Driver’s License
  • Valid CT Safe Boating Certificate
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
  • Experience in teaching basic sailing to children and adults
  • Must be over the age of 18
  • Experience in implementing curriculum preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple challenges at the same time
  • Experience working with groups
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
